Dr. Khalil Isaac Mathai is one of India's most distinguished neurosurgeons - a doctor who has spent decades mastering the most complex aspects of brain and spine care, both in the operating theatre and in the world of academic medicine.

Carrying the rare honour of the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), he served as a Brigadier in the Army Medical Corps, bringing military-grade precision and discipline to every procedure he performs. He led as Dean & Director of the Institute of Naval Medicine, Mumbai and served as a Professor of Neurosurgery at MUHS. His clinical journey spans some of India's finest institutions, including AIIMS New Delhi, AFMC Pune, and INHS Aswini.
 

Specializations

Dr. Mathai is a prolific medical researcher and author with over 40 published papers in reputed medical journals, focusing on traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic epilepsy, and neurotrauma at sea. He has authored three academic neuroscience textbooks:
